Tah Dah ....!

Before surgery photo.

Two weeks post surgery photo. I didn't think that there would be a difference, but THERE IS!!! Halleluja!

It will be two weeks tomorrow since I had my surgery. I went for my followup visit today and the surgeon is amazed! My incisions have all healed nicely (I heal very fast) and I haven't had any vomiting or explosive diar------. I don't like saying that word and you probably don't like reading it, so I shall refrain from saying it ..., well maybe. I have lost 20 pounds since the last time I weighed at his office. He said that I was on the high end of the weight loss for most of his patients. He also told me that I should lose the weight very fast. I'm down 14 pounds, with clothes, and 16 pounds in underwear, since two weeks ago when I weighed at home.

Each day I feel a little stronger. I even went for a walk today, but was exhausted by the time I got to my friend's home. I was leaning on her house, ringing the doorbell, hoping she was home so I could go inside and sit down. I had a busy day today with Relief Society work, planning a funeral luncheon for tomorrow, going to the Dr., and visiting the deceased at a viewing. But I really, really feel great. I even fixed Lynn his favorite dinner tonight ... chicken flied lice! (fried rice) This is one recipe I'll definitely put into our cookbook.

Speaking of the cookbook, it's coming along. There are some terrific recipes and I've even tried some. You'll want your own copy as soon as I have it published. Just let me know if you'd like one or several copies. You're still welcome to submit more. I think I could use a few more main dishes, and you don't have to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator to submit. Just e-mail me your recipes, with a photo and bio of yourself and I'll include them in the book.

We've enjoyed having Angie's dog this past week. I'm going to miss him. He's very obedient. Much more so than Dieter. I hope that Dieter is taking good lessons from him before he goes home. I take 'the boys' over to Mom and Dads and they get the biggest kick out of watching them play together. It's more like Dieter pestering poor Sarge and he just sits there and takes it. On occasion he'll put Dieter in his place.

I think that's all for now. Tomorrow, if I remember, I'll take a picture of a 2 ounce portion of food so you can get an idea of how little it really is. The Dr. said that I'm probably only consuming between 3 and 400 calories a day. That's not very much. No wonder we lose weight so fast!

Happy Tuesday!

I had weight loss surgery about 2 1/2 years ago...was the best thing that I ever did for ME! I lost 100 lbs and now weigh 150lbs...It was fun to start shopping in the stores for regular sizes, but I restrained myself in all things but SHOES...I love shoes and always have...but beware...you shoe size will also change...I had to have a whole new shoe wardrobe when I was done...not that it was a hardship to go shopping for more! Congrats on the beginning of your weight loss journey...Enjoy the results...I do!

Holy Moly girl, you look awesome.
I am anxious to see what 2 oz. of food is, I bet I am not eating like I should.
I am totally wanting a cookbook, just shoot out all the information when you have the time.
Also how do you pronounce Dieter...I am thinking Deeeter, and not Diet-er, but hey I knew someone that called their dog D.O.G.

Keep up the great work!

Love,
Di

OMGosh Linda you look awesome, great, fabulous. If I wasn't such a baby (besides being a bad patient, I do not do pain well), I'd do the surgery and I know I couldn't do the diet food. You are doing fantastic! congratulations...I am so very happy for you!!!

Miss Linda,
I love seeing the difference since your surgery! How exciting. I might try eating your menu, for one day, just for kicks to see what it would be like.
I'm not a big fan of dogs, but your pup's coat looks like velvet!

You look great! I'm so happy you're doing well .. I was in the hospital for a week and didn't get to check in on your progress... I was so excited to see you're doing so well! It gives me hope that someday I'll afford the surgery and I can do it too!

Holy crap mom! I didn't know if we could really see the difference either, but you definitley can in your stomache. Your shirt's buttons don't pull. You look great! I'll have to finally let go of all my "skinny" clothes that I'll never fit back into and give them to you pretty soon!

Mom, I had Neal look at the before and afters - he totally noticed the difference - pretty good considering it's Neal:) You look really good, and sound good too.

That is so great. I have lost 102 lbs in the last 2 1/2 years. It will do WONDERS for your self image. I think that I finally feel different around food. It doesn't control my life any more. After this, you'll feel like you can do anything.
Will we see you at convention just a an attendee? If not, is it possible to meet with you somewhere?

Girlie, you look GAWJUSS!!! I can even see from the way you are standing that you are FEELING it! You GO!

Water tip - when you get sick of plain water, try mixing in the Crystal Light but add 1 1/2 to twice as much water. I find that SO much more refreshing than when made with the amount of water on the package. When it's ice cold it is SO good! I am partial to the Cherry Pomengranat; it's hard to find but I have a stash so if you can't find it and want to try it LMK and I will send you some.

You are an inspiration to face those challenges that we all think are so insurmountable. Big hugs to you!

Linda I thought you looked amazing before surgery! You look even better than amazing now- if that is possible! You sound like you have such a positive attitude about your surgery decision. That is what one needs to succeed. Lynn must be loving "Linda Lou" now! Happy clothes shopping!!!
